The I remember paintings began around 2013 and is ongoing. These paintings become 'memory palaces". All paintings in this series are 12" x 9". Specific objects or texts are sometimes included on the back of the painting (verso). These paintings have been exhibited using hinges, allowing the viewer to turn the painting to see/read the verso, like a book.

Yellow Red

I remember Mom always liked me in yellow.

I think she thought it was a good combination with my hair,

kind of like Monet’s dining room at Giverny.

and

I remember a high school outfit that was just perfect:

Solid Tomato-Red Wool Kilt Skirt with Pin,

  Tomato-Red Wool Sweater,

  Yellow Shirt,

Striped Yellow & Tomato-Red Wool Socks.

Totally coordinated (sometimes I even wore yellow ribbons in my braids).
